Russia prepares over 10,500 tonnes of humanitarian aid for residents of Ukraine

MOSCOW. March 2 (Interfax) - Russia has prepared more than 10,500 tonnes of humanitarian aid for residents of Ukraine, and the first such humanitarian aid convoy has already arrived in southern Ukraine from Crimea, head of Russia's National Defense Control Center Mikhail Mizintsev said.

"The federal authorities together with Russian regions have already prepared more than 10,500 tonnes of humanitarian supplies," Mizintsev said at a press briefing of the interagency coordination headquarters for humanitarian response.

"A humanitarian aid convoy from the Republic of Crimea reached populated localities in the south of Ukraine" on Wednesday, he said.

"The formation of humanitarian convoys in the Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kursk, and Rostov regions is being completed now," he said.
