Russian Deputy DM Fomin, Russian Deputy FM Rudenko currently in Belarus as part of delegation for talks with Ukraine

MINSK. Feb 27 (Interfax) - Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin is in Minsk as part of a delegation for talks with Ukraine.

Fomin was present during a statement by the head of the Russian delegation and Russian presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky which was broadcast live by the RBC television channel on Sunday.

Along with Fomin and Medinsky, the delegation includes Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko, Russian Ambassador to Belarus Boris Gryzlov, and Chairman of the State Duma Foreign Affairs Committee Leonid Slutsky.

As reported, the Russian delegation is waiting until 3 p.m. local time for the Ukrainian delegation to travel to Gomel from Kyiv. Currently, the Russian delegates are in Minsk, stand ready to move to Gomel within three hours.

Earlier, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that Gomel had been chosen by the Ukrainian side as a venue for negotiations.
