Russian, Iranian foreign ministers discuss JCPOA situation

MOSCOW. Feb 25 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir-Abdollahian spoke by telephone at the latter's request on Friday to discuss the latest developments around the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the Russian Foreign Ministry stated on Friday.

"There was a substantive discussion of the developments around the [JCPOA] on Iran's nuclear program, with the emphasis on the agreements reached between the two countries' presidents in their telephone conversation on February 24, 2022," the statement said.

The ministers also touched on other topics of mutual interest, the ministry said.
