Kazakh airlines banned from flying over Ukraine until situation stabilizes

NUR-SULTAN. Feb 24 (Interfax) - Kazakh airlines have been banned from flying in Ukrainian airspace, the Kazakh Industry and Infrastructure Development Ministry said.

"Due to the high safety risks for civil aviation in Ukraine and due to NOTAM (Notices to Air Missions) issued for the airspace over Dnipro, Lviv, Simferopol, Odesa, Kyiv and in other regions associated with military operations, all domestic airlines to and over Ukraine are prohibited," the press service said in a statement.

According to the report, the Kazakh aviation authorities have sent relevant instructions to Kazakh airlines that carry out regular, cargo, and charter flights banning commercial airlines from flying to and over Ukraine until the situation stabilizes.
