Russia records 28,343 daily cases of Covid-19, 1,145 related deaths - HQ

MOSCOW. Dec 14 (Interfax) - Russia has recorded 28,343 daily cases of coronavirus and 1,145 related deaths over the past 24 hours, the coronavirus operative response headquarters said in a statement on Tuesday.

"Russia has recorded 28,343 new confirmed coronavirus cases (Covid-19) in 85 regions over the past 24 hours, including 1,864 (6.6%) cases identified proactively without any clinical symptoms manifested," the headquarters said.

St. Petersburg has seen the highest number of daily cases of coronavirus, 1,989, among all Russian regions. Moscow has recorded 1,976 cases, the lowest number since the end of September. The Moscow region has seen the third largest number of daily cases, 1,945.

As many as 1,145 coronavirus-related fatalities have been confirmed nationwide over the past 24 hours, including 89 in Moscow, 62 in St. Petersburg, and 52 in the Moscow region.

The cumulative number of new coronavirus infection cases recorded in Russia over the entire period of the pandemic has reached 10,074,797, with 291,749 related deaths and 8,804,000 recoveries, including 34,084 recoveries over the past 24 hours alone, among them 3,436 in Moscow.

Specialists have carried out more than 232.4 million diagnostic tests for Covid-19 in Russia during the pandemic, including some 325,000 tests over the past 24 hours, according to Russian public health and consumer rights watchdog Rospotrebnadzor.

As many as 1,628,141 people diagnosed with Covid-19 remain under medical supervision nationwide.
