Russia registers 32,648 new cases of Covid-19, lowest number since Oct 15, and 1,229 deaths in past 24 hours - HQ

MOSCOW. Nov 30 (Interfax) - Russia has registered 32,648 new cases of Covid-19 and 1,229 deaths in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Tuesday.

"Over the past day, 32,648 Covid-19 cases were confirmed in 85 regions of Russia, including 2,247 asymptomatic cases identified proactively (6.9%)," the headquarters said.

In the past 24 hours, Russia recorded the lowest number of new infections since October 15, when the latest spike in infections began. Now morbidity levels are slowly declining.

According to the headquarters, Moscow saw 2,788 new cases of Covid-19 in the reporting period, which is the minimal number in five days. There were 2,215 cases in the Moscow region, and 2,103 in St. Petersburg. Both regions are continuing to see spikes in coronavirus morbidity at this point.

Meanwhile, 1,229 patients have died from Covid-19 across Russia over the past day, most of them in Moscow (97), St. Petersburg (69) and the Moscow region (50).

Since the beginning of the coronavirus epidemic in Russia, it has registered a total of 9,636,881 cases of Covid-19, including 275,193 deaths and 8,329,253 recoveries, including 33,442 persons discharged from hospital over the past day, 3,816 of them in Moscow.

The Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) said on Tuesday that Russia has performed more than 224.9 million Covid-19 diagnostic tests to date, including 369,000 over the past day. As many as 1,768,641 people remain under medical observation.
