AFK Sistema could become investor in hydrogen project with projected output volume of 350,000 tonnes/year

MOSCOW. Nov 17 (Interfax) - PJSC AFK Sistema could participate in implementing a pilot project to produce green hydrogen in the Khabarovsk Territory, with output projected at 350,000 tonnes per year, according to information in the Russian Industry and Trade Ministry's updated version of the Russian Atlas of Low-carbon and Carbon-free Hydrogen and Ammonia Production Projects.

The project envisages producing green hydrogen via electrolysis of water using electricity from the Tugurskaya tidal power plant, with the implementation period set for 2035. The target markets for the hydrogen would be Russia and countries in the Asia-Pacific region.

In addition to AFK Sistema, the list of project participants includes the JSC Tyazhmash machinery manufacturing plant, the Khabarovsk Territory Agency for Attracting Investments and Developing Innovations, as well as other partners.

AFK Sistema's press service has declined to comment.
