Migrant crisis on Belarusian-Polish border fraught with severe consequences - CSTO

MOSCOW. Nov 10 (Interfax) - The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) has expressed concern about the current situation on the Belarusian-Polish border.

"We are monitoring the migrant crisis on the Belarusian-Polish border very closely and with concern. The migrant crisis may evolve into a great disaster for thousands of civilians, including numerous women and children," the CSTO Secretariat said in a statement released in Moscow on Wednesday.

The CSTO said it hoped that "the sides, supported by esteemed international organizations, would take all political, diplomatic and humanitarian measures possible to ensure a peaceful resolution of the crisis and to prevent it from evolving into a security threat on the border of a CSTO member state."
