Russia registers new all-time high of 37,930 new cases of Covid-19 - HQ

MOSCOW. Oct 25 (Interfax) - Russia has registered a new all-time high of 37,930 new cases of Covid-19, as well as 1,069 deaths from Covid-19, in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Monday.

"Over the past day, 37,930 Covid-19 cases were confirmed in 85 regions of Russia, including 3,387 asymptomatic cases identified proactively (9.0%)," the headquarters said.

Russia has seen another record for new cases of Covid-19. The number of daily cases has grown by over 2,000 from the 35,660 cases reported on Sunday.

The largest number of cases, 7,778, was reported from Moscow, followed by the Moscow region with a new all-time high of 3,127 infections and St. Petersburg with 2,693.

Russia has seen 1,069 deaths from Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, and the most deaths were recorded in Moscow (83), St. Petersburg (65), and the Nizhny Novgorod region (42).

Since the beginning of the coronavirus epidemic in Russia, it has registered a total of 8,279,573 cases of Covid-19, 231,669 deaths, and 7,186,611 recoveries, including 20,690 patients discharged from hospitals across the country in the past 24 hours, among them 3,982 patients discharged in Moscow.

Russian consumer health watchdog Rospotrebnadzor said on Monday that Russia has performed more than 205.3 million Covid-19 diagnostic tests to date, including 594,000 over the past day. As many as 1,867,569 people remain under medical observation.
