Lavrov to hold talks with partners from Gulf States, Central America at UN GA

MOSCOW. Sept 21 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will hold a number of bilateral talks with foreign partners, including from Gulf States and the Central American Integration System, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, the ministry's spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.

"On September 22, Lavrov will attend the traditional meeting of the foreign ministers of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council and the United Nations Secretary General [Antonio] Guterres," Zakharova said fielding a question from the media.

"On September 23, he will have a business lunch with the foreign ministers from the member states of the Central American Integration System and will also meet with representatives from American Jewish nongovernmental organizations. Finally, on September 24, Lavrov will attend a ministerial meeting of Russia and the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf," she said.

Also, on September 23, Lavrov's deputy Sergei Vershinin will attend a meeting of the Group of Friends in Defense of the UN Charter set up at Venezuela's initiative, Zakharova said.
