Russia registers 18,325 new cases of Covid-19, 792 deaths in past 24 hours - HQ

MOSCOW. Aug 30 (Interfax) - Russia has registered 18,325 new cases of Covid-19 and 792 related deaths in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Monday.

"Over the past day, 18,325 Covid-19 cases were confirmed in 85 regions of Russia, including 1,360 asymptomatic cases identified proactively (7.4%)," the headquarters said.

Over the past day, 792 patients died from Covid-19 across Russia, as against 797 on Sunday. Most deaths are still registered in Moscow (50), followed by St. Petersburg (35) and the Krasnodar Territory (32).

As many as 14,180 patients recovered from Covid-19 over the past day.

Since the beginning of the coronavirus epidemic in Russia, it has registered a total of 6,901,152 cases of Covid-19, including 182,429 deaths and 6,162,430 recoveries.

The Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) said on Monday that Russia has performed more than 178.5 million Covid-19 diagnostic tests to date, including 386,000 over the past day. As many as 1,251,649 people remain under medical observation.
