Pace of Covid-19 vaccination in Russia up 1.7 times in past week - Deputy PM Golikova

MOSCOW. June 23 (Interfax) - The pace of the Covid-19 vaccination campaign in Russia has increased 1.7 times over the past week, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said.

"We note that the pace of vaccination in Russia has increased by 1.7 times on average over the past week," Golikova said at Russian President Vladimir Putin's meeting with government members on Wednesday.

The pace of vaccination has "drastically" increased in ten Russian regions, Golikova said. These are regions where the authorities have introduced mandatory Covid-19 vaccination for certain categories of citizens.

They are Moscow, the Moscow, Kemerovo, Nizhny Novgorod, Sakhalin, Tula and Tver regions, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the Kaliningrad region, and the Krasnodar Territory.
