No spectators to attend Moscow leg of 2021 Rugby Europe Sevens Championship Series

MOSCOW. June 23 (Interfax) - The men's and women's national rugby sevens teams of Russia are hopefuls for the second leg of the 2021 Rugby Europe Sevens Championship Series, which is due to take place in Moscow, Russian Rugby Union General Director Stanislav Druzhinin said.

"The games will be held without spectators. Eleven countries will take part. Our men and women are hopefuls. We fully comply with anti-coronavirus requirements. We hope there will be interesting games, which will be aired by Match.Strana television channel and on our websites," Druzhinin said at a press conference at Interfax on Wednesday.

"The coronavirus situation is getting worse in Moscow, but we are very lucky to have an opportunity to host the tournament. There was a risk that it won't take place, but Moscow authorities decided to meet us halfway," he said.

Moscow's Luzhniki sports complex will host the 2021 Rugby Europe Sevens Championship Series on June 25-27.
