Putin, FIFA president discuss preparations for world cup in Qatar, legacy of Russian championship - Peskov

MOSCOW. June 21 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin and FIFA President Gianni Infantino have discussed preparations for the world cup in Qatar and the legacy of the one held in Russia, the Russian leader's spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"President Putin received Gianni Infantino at the Kremlin. An exchange of views was held on the course of preparations for the soccer world cup in Qatar," Peskov said.

The pair also touched on the legacy of the world cup held in Russia, he said.

According to the Kremlin's website, Putin and Infantino also discussed the upcoming FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup due to be held in Russia this August.
