Russia registers 9,429 Covid-19 cases, 330 deaths in past 24 hours - HQ

MOSCOW. June 7 (Interfax) - Russia has registered 9,429 new cases of Covid-19 and 330 related deaths in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Monday.

"Over the past day, 9,429 Covid-19 cases were confirmed in 83 regions of Russia, including 1,294 asymptomatic cases identified proactively (13.7%)," the headquarters said.

In the past 24 hours, 6,756 patients were discharged from hospitals upon recovery, and 330 patients died from Covid-19 across Russia.

According to the headquarters, Moscow reported 3,266 new cases of Covid-19, as well as 59 deaths and 1,568 recoveries on Monday.

Coronavirus morbidity levels have been the highest in Moscow since the beginning of the pandemic. Over the past day, the smallest number of infections was reported by Tuva (five), the Magadan region (three), and the Jewish Autonomous Region (two). There were zero infections reported in the Nenets and Chukotka autonomous districts.

Since the coronavirus epidemic began in Russia on March 2, 2020, it has registered a total of 5,135,866 cases of Covid-19, including 124,117 deaths and 4,743,202 recoveries.

Russian consumer health watchdog Rospotrebnadzor said on Monday that Russia has performed more than 140.6 million Covid-19 diagnostic tests to date, including 188,000 over the past day. As many as 527,364 people remain under medical observation.
