Russia to resume regular flights to/from UK on June 2 - HQ

MOSCOW. June 1 (Interfax) - Russia will resume regular air travel with the United Kingdom on June 2, operating three Moscow-London flights a week on a mutual basis, the Russian headquarters on preventing the import and spread of the novel coronavirus infection said.

"Due to an improvement of the epidemiological situation in the United Kingdom, the operative headquarters decided not to extend the suspension of flights. Regular air traffic will be resumed on June 2 with three Moscow-London flights a week on a mutual basis," the headquarters said on Monday.

Russia initially suspended air travel with the UK on December 22, 2020, after a new strain of coronavirus was detected in the UK. After that, the suspension was first extended through January 12, but was subsequently prolonged several times.

The Russian headquarters' decision to halt air travel with the UK through June 1 was adopted on April 15.
