Putin orders introducing unified approach to school safety

MOSCOW. May 13 (Interfax) - Problems with the safety of educational establishments remain, which was shown by the Kazan school tragedy, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

Putin asked the government to come up with unified requirements for school safety and antiterrorist protection.

"The tragedy in Kazan shows that problems remain as concerns such an exceptionally important issue for all regions as safety at educational establishments. An order was issued on this matter in 2018. The relevant government decree was issued later," Putin said at a meeting with the government.

However, Putin said that "not everything we said has been done in full at the proper level."

"I am asking the government to introduce a unified approach in the near future, it's very important, a unified approach to the safety and anti-terrorist protection of educational organizations," he said.
