Interior Ministry prohibits 122 foreign participants in unsanctioned Moscow protests from visiting Russia

MOSCOW. April 22 (Interfax) - The Russian Interior Ministry has prohibited 122 foreign participants in the unsanctioned protests in Moscow from visiting Russia for the next 40 years, head of the Moscow police department's immigration division Dmitry Sergiyenko said.

"Territorial migration departments have prohibited 122 foreign citizens who took part in unsanctioned demonstrations and protests in the city of Moscow from visiting [Russia] for the next 40 years consistent with Clause 1, Part 1, Article 27 of the Federal Law on the Arrival and Departure Procedure," Sergiyenko said at a meeting of the Moscow Civic Chamber on Thursday.

He did not say which protests exactly the foreign citizens had taken part in.

According to Sergiyenko, the Interior Ministry has filed ten motions to designate as unwelcome foreign citizens presumably involved in extremist or terrorist activity since the beginning of 2021.
