Experts warn about worsening coronavirus situation globally, including in Russia, important to avoid deterioration - PM Mishustin

MOSCOW. April 6 (Interfax) - Experts have warned about the worsening coronavirus situation in the world, including in Russia, and thus, it is important to avoid deterioration, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said.

"The coronavirus situation has been stable in Russia for several weeks in a row. However, we can see how the situation has been developing in a number of countries in America, Europe, and Asia. Morbidity there has started growing again, a record number of patients have been reported, and the beginning of a third wave of coronavirus infections has already been declared," Mishustin said at a meeting of the presidium of the government's Coronavirus Response Council.

Some states have had to go into lockdown, Mishustin said. "A number of experts have warned about the possible risks of a deterioration of the situation, in particular, in Russia. It's important to prevent this scenario from happening in our country," he said.

Mishustin declared the importance of prompt measures to protect Russians from the infection, immediate response, and a broader scale of vaccination.

"The delivery of yet another Russian vaccine to Russia's constituent territories has begun. Vaccination is an opportunity to take care of one's health and avoid severe complications of the infection. This is the right time to be vaccinated," he said.
