Russian govt to allocate around 15 bln rubles over 3 years for new Arctic state development program - Mishustin

MOSCOW. April 5 (Interfax) - The Russian government will allocate 15 billion rubles over three years to develop the Arctic as part of a new state program, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said.

"The government has approved a new state program for development of the Arctic zone. It is scheduled for the next four years. Around 15 billion rubles will be allocated for it over three years, including nearly 3.5 billion this year," Mishustin said during a meeting with his deputies.

He said the aim of the program was to ensure the region's sustainable development, create new jobs, and raise people's incomes.
