Russia sees 13,433 new Covid-19 cases, 470 deaths in past 24 hours - HQ

MOSCOW. Feb 19 (Interfax) - Russia registered 13,433 new Covid-19 cases and 470 deaths in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Friday.

"Over the past day, 13,433 Covid-19 cases were confirmed in 85 regions of Russia, including 1,462 asymptomatic cases identified proactively (10.9%)," the headquarters said.

Russia saw 470 coronavirus-related deaths in the past 24 hours.

Most of the new infections were reported by Moscow, which registered 1,972 new Covid-19 cases, 53 deaths, and 2,112 recoveries in the past 24 hours.

Following Moscow are St. Petersburg (1,087) and the Moscow region (687), the headquarters said.

As of this date, Russia has registered a total of 4,139,031 cases of Covid-19, including 82,396 deaths and 3,679,949 recoveries, including 18,637 in the past 24 hours.

The Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) said on Friday that Russia had performed more than 108.3 million Covid-19 diagnostic tests to date, including 374,000 over the past day. As many as 604,357 people remain under medical observation.
