Russia registers 13,447 new Covid-19 cases, 480 deaths in past 24 hours - HQ

MOSCOW. Feb 18 (Interfax) - Russia has registered 13,447 new cases of Covid-19 and 480 deaths in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said on Thursday.

"Over the past day, 13,447 Covid-19 cases were confirmed in 85 regions of Russia, including 1,494 asymptomatic cases identified proactively (11.1%)," the headquarters said.

Russia reported 12,828 new coronavirus infection cases the day before. According to epidemiologists, daily fluctuations in coronavirus morbidity are normal, and Russia is generally seeing a downward trend in the epidemic process.

In the past 24 hours, Russia has confirmed 480 deaths from the novel coronavirus, and 18,730 patients have been discharged from hospitals upon recovery.

According to the headquarters, Moscow has recorded 1,950 new Covid-19 cases, 55 deaths, and 2,514 recoveries in the past 24 hours.

As of this date, Russia has registered a total of 4,125,598 cases of Covid-19 (+0.33%), including 81,926 deaths and 3,661,312 recoveries.

Russian health watchdog Rospotrebnadzor said on Thursday that Russia has performed more than 107.9 million coronavirus tests to date, including 363,000 over the past day. As many as 608,551 people remain under medical observation.
