Muscovites will be able to return to normal life in May - Mayor Sobyanin

MOSCOW. Jan 14 (Interfax) - Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin has predicted that the capital will return to normalcy by May, but added that this will largely depend on how actively people volunteer to be vaccinated.

"My forecast is May," Sobyanin said in an interview aired on the Rossiya 24 (VGTRK) television channel on Thursday.

"I'm sure that a decline in incidence will begin earlier, probably in late January or February, and we'll see weaker dynamics and a decline. But to actually feel fully safe, I think it'll be May," he said.

A lot in the capital's return to normal, to the way it was before the pandemic, "will depend on how actively citizens get vaccinated," Sobyanin said.
