Armenian president hospitalized after contracting Covid-19 in UK

YEREVAN. Jan 13 (Interfax) - Armenian President Armen Sarkissian has been hospitalized after contracting Covid-19 in London, his press service said on Wednesday.

"The president of Armenia, who contracted coronavirus and was receiving outpatient treatment, has been hospitalized. He has a serious form of the illness. The president has symptoms characteristic of this condition: fever, bilateral pneumonia," it said.

Sarkissian is hospitalized in London, the press service said.

The presidential press service said on January 5 that Sarkissian had contracted the coronavirus infection in London, where he was celebrating the New Year holidays with his family and grandchildren, and also underwent leg surgery.
