Kazakhstan suspends oil transit via Russia due to problems with power supply as result of severe freezing weather

MOSCOW. Jan 11 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan has suspended the transit of oil through Russia due to problems with power supply due to severe freezing weather.

"Due to severe frosts in the north of Kazakhstan, two areas were left without power, including the oil pumping station supplying oil to Transneft's system , since 5 a.m. (Moscow time) pumping from Kazakhstan has been stopped until power lines are restored," advisor to the president of Transneft and press secretary Igor Demin told reporters.
