Algeria registers Sputnik V vaccine - RDIF

MOSCOW. Jan 11 (Interfax) - Algeria has become the first African country to register Russia's Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine, the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) said in a statement.

"Russian Direct Investment Fund announces the first registration of Sputnik V in Africa. Ministry of Pharmaceutical Industry of Algeria registered Sputnik V on January 10th," the vaccine manufacturer said on Twitter on Sunday.

According to RDIF, the Sputnik V vaccine has been registered under the emergency use authorization procedure in Russia, Belarus, Serbia, Argentina, and Bolivia. "The vaccine registration process has been initiated in the EU," it said.
