Daily coronavirus cases pass 18,000 milestone in Russia - HQ
MOSCOW. Oct 30 (Interfax) - Daily coronavirus cases have passed the 18,000 milestone in Russia: 18,283 new cases were diagnosed and the all-time record number of patients, 355, died in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said on Friday.
"Over the past day, 18,283 Covid-19 cases were confirmed in 84 regions of Russia, including 4,072 active asymptomatic cases (22.3%)," the headquarters said.
According to the headquarters, Russia saw the all-time high number of coronavirus deaths, 355, in the past 24 hours.
The daily coronavirus count demonstrated a slight decline on October 27 and 28. There were 17,717 new cases on October 29, 16,202 on October 28, 16,550 on October 27, and over 17,000 on October 26.
The growth is still the steepest in Moscow, which reported 5,268 new cases on Friday, as against 4,906 on October 29, 3,670 on October 28, and 4,312 on October 27.
According to the headquarters, 3,985 coronavirus patients were discharged from hospitals and 69 patients died in Moscow in the past 24 hours.
By now, Russia has seen a total of 1,599,976 coronavirus cases, including 27,656 deaths.
The recovery rate has reached 1,200,560, including 14,519 patients discharged from hospitals over the past day, the headquarters said.
Hence, the number of active cases (the total number of cases minus all recoveries and all deaths) currently stands at 371,760.
