Russia registers 5,670 coronavirus cases, 132 deaths in past 24 hours - HQ
MOSCOW. Sept 16 (Interfax) - Russia registered 5,670 new coronavirus cases and 132 coronavirus-related deaths in the past 24 hours, the operative headquarters said in a statement on Wednesday.
"Over the past day, 5,670 Covid-19 cases were confirmed in 84 regions of Russia, including 1,309 active asymptomatic cases (23.1%)," the headquarters said.
By now, Russia has seen a total of 1,079,519 coronavirus cases, including 18,917 deaths and 890,114 recoveries (among them 5,809 patients discharged in the past 24 hours).
Moscow reported 750 new coronavirus cases, 10 deaths, and 1,223 recoveries over the past day.
The operative headquarters noted that Moscow was one of the regions with the smallest increase in new coronavirus cases, 0.3%.
According to Rospotrebnadzor, Russia performed over 41.4 million coronavirus tests by Wednesday morning, including 301,000 over the past day. As many as 223,651 people remain under medical observation.
