Belarusian police taskforce demonstrates dispersing protesters using water cannons for Lukashenko

MINSK. July 28 (Interfax) - A battalion of the Belarusian Interior Ministry's special taskforce has demonstrated an exercise to practice dispersing street protest rallies to Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

The Belarus 1 television channel showed a fragment of a tactical exercise conducted by the battalion on its news program.

The exercise involved people imitating protesters shouting mottos and waving flags, who were dispersed using water cannons, special blocking vehicles, and smoke grenades.

Lukashenko has inspected a number of rapid response units in July. In particular, he visited the 103rd Vitebsk Separate Guards Airborne Brigade on July 16, the 5th Separate Special Brigade in Maryina Gorka on July 24, and an Interior Ministry special taskforce in Minsk's Uruchye district on July 28.
