Russia reports 6,760 new coronavirus cases, 147 deaths in past 24 hours - HQ

MOSCOW. July 2 (Interfax) - Russia registered 6,760 new coronavirus cases and 147 deaths in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Thursday.

"Over the past day, 6,760 Covid-19 cases were confirmed in 83 regions of Russia, including 2,167 active asymptomatic cases (32.1%)," the headquarters said.

The daily growth in new coronavirus cases increased a bit: Russia reported 6,556 new cases on July 1, 6,693 on June 30, and 6,719 on June 29. The mortality rate increased by 147 over the past day, compared to 216 on July 1, and 154 on June 30.

By now, Russia has registered 661,165 coronavirus cases, including 9,683 deaths and 428,978 recoveries (6,047 in the past 24 hours). The number of active cases (the cumulative number of cases minus all recoveries and all deaths) currently stands at 222,504.

According to the operative staff, Moscow reported 662 new coronavirus cases, 39 deaths, and 1,055 recoveries in the past 24 hours. Rospotrebnadzor said that Moscow performed 4.093 million coronavirus tests by now, setting the absolute record amongst Russian regions.
