Russia registers 6,719 new coronavirus cases in past 24 hours - HQ

MOSCOW. June 29 (Interfax) - A bit more than 6,700 coronavirus cases were detected in Russia in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Monday.

"Over the past day, 6,719 confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in 83 regions of Russia, including 2,123 active asymptomatic cases (31.6%). In terms of constituent territories, 782 cases [were reported] in Moscow," the headquarters said.

The cumulative number of coronavirus cases has reached 641,156 (+1.1%). The daily growth in new cases continues to decline: 6,791 new cases were registered on Sunday, about 6,800 on each of Saturday and Friday, around 7,100 cases on Thursday and Wednesday, about 7,400 cases on Tuesday, and 7,600 cases last Monday.

Ninety-three coronavirus deaths were confirmed across Russia in the past 24 hours, including 23 in Moscow. By now, coronavirus has killed 9,166 people in Russia.

The recovery rate grew by 4,343 in Russia, including 1,007 in Moscow, to 403,430 in the reporting period.
