Armenian PM contracts coronavirus
YEREVAN. June 1 (Interfax) - Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said he had contracted coronavirus.
"It appeared yesterday that I had tested positive for coronavirus. I had no symptoms but, considering my plan to visit military units, I decided to take the test and it came back positive," Pashinyan said on Facebook on Monday.
He said his entire family was also sick with Covid-19.
"I will be working from home," Pashinyan said.
He said he was likely to have contracted the infection during a meeting "from a waiter, who brought us glasses of water."
"I saw that he was wearing no gloves and rebuked him, but I think they were working without gloves earlier. The waiter has also tested positive for coronavirus," Pashinyan said.
The Armenian prime minister celebrates his 45th birthday on Monday, June 1.
