Sobyanin says Moscow must maintain strict self-isolation, travel with digital permits for now

MOSCOW. May 22 (Interfax) - Moscow must preserve strict self-isolation and travel with digital permits for now, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said.

"Despite certain measures toward restarting the economy and public services, we still think we should continue taking strict measures, such sanitary isolation requirements, self-restrictions, and the wearing of masks, in regard to the civilian population. We should continue issuing digital travel passes, enforcing sanitary measures on public transport, etc.," Sobyanin said at a conference chaired by Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday.

He said that strict sanitary requirements to enterprises must also stay in place.

"That would guarantee that we can prevent the situation from deteriorating and can continue unlocking economic capacities and stabilizing the megalopolis' life," Sobyanin said.
