PepsiCo receives FAS authorization for buying WBD, plans to close deal by Feb 8
MOSCOW. Jan 27 (Interfax) - PepsiCo Inc. has received authorization from Russia's Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) to acquire OJSC Wimm-Bill-Dann Foods (WBD), the U.S. company said in a statement.
The transaction should be complete by February 8.
PepsiCo is acquiring 66% in the company for $3.8 billion from WBD's main owners. Including shares purchased on the open market, PepsiCo's total stake in WBD will come to around 77%.
