CNPC boosts Qinshui Basin proven CBM reserves to 115.2 bln cubic meters

Shanghai. January 31. INTERFAX-CHINA - China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC), China's largest oil and gas producer, added 30.8 billion cubic meters of proven coalbed methane (CBM) reserves to Shanxi Province's Qinshui Basin, the company said in a newsletter on Jan. 31.

According to the newsletter, the new reserves are located in the basin's Zhengzhuang and Fanzhuang Blocks. The Qinshui Basin now has 115.2 billion cubic meters of total proven CBM reserves.

Between 2010 and 20006, the company drilled 858 CBM wells in the basin and transmitted 436 million cubic meters.
