Uzbek foreign trade grows 3% in 2010
TASHKENT. Jan 31 (Interfax) - Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover grew 3% from 2009 in 2010 to $21.842 billion, the country's State Statistics Committee reported.
Exports increased 10.8% to $13.045 billion while imports decreased 6.8% to $8.798 billion. As reported previously, Uzbekistan posted at 2010 of $4.247 billion last year, 80% greater than the year before.
Uzbekistan's trade with fellow Commonwealth of Independent States countries expanded 17.7% last year to $9.245 billion, while that with non-CIS countries contracted 5.9% to $12.418 billion.
Uzbekistan increased exports to CIS countries by 50.4% to $5.899 billion, but reduced exports to non-CIS countries 9% to $7.146 billion. Imports from the former decreased 13.8% to $3.526 billion and from the latter 1.4% to $5.272 billion.
Trade with CIS countries represented 43.1% of Uzbekistan's overall foreign trade last year (37.7% in 2009). Non-CIS trading partners accounted for 56.9% (62.3%).
