Danone-Unimilk seeks continued cooperation with Belarusian authorities
MOSCOW. Feb 4 (Interfax) - The company Danone-Unimilk rejected sharp criticism Thursday from Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, saying in an official announcement that it wished to continue cooperation with the country.
"The company Danone-Unimilk respects the view of the Belarusian authorities and will continue working with them," the statement says.
Danone-Unimilk said it is "interested in building relations with the Belarusian dairy industry, and creating new modern production and developing their raw-materials base."
"Danone's politics of business worldwide is to directly act in accordance with international agreements and national law," the statement says.
Lukashenko said on Thursday that Unimilk might lose its right to operate in Belarus if it did not meet its investment agreements before the end of the first quarter this year.
