Russia imports 39.7% more machinery, equipment in 2010 - FCS
MOSCOW. Feb 8 (Interfax) - Russia imported 39.7% more machinery and equipment last year then in 2009, paying $98.6 billion, the Federal Customs Service (FCS) reported.
Countries outside the Commonwealth of Independent States accounted for 94.1% of those imports ($92.737 billion worth). Imports from countries in the CIS rose more rapidly - 64.5% to $5.863 billion - than those from non-CIS countries (38.4%).
Exports of Russian-made machinery and equipment increased 17.7% last year to $19.6 billion. Exports to non-CIS countries accounted for 73.4% of such exports overall (for $14.353 billion, or 21.3% more than in 2009). Exports to CIS countries were up 8.9% at $5.206 billion.
