No one proposed that AAR sell TNK-BP stake - Fridman
MOSCOW. Feb 9 (Interfax) - AAR, the Russian consortium that owns 50% of TNK-BP , is not in talks on sale of the stake, TNK-BP chief Mikhail Fridman, who is one of the shareholders, told journalists.
Fridman said AAR had not received any proposal to sell the stake.
He declined to comment on the possibility of concluding a settlement agreement with BP - or its potential terms - in connection with BP's tie-up with Rosneft .
Media reports said previously that AAR might sell its TNK-BP stake to either Rosneft or the state.
BP and Rosneft have reached agreement to create a global strategic alliance. However, AAR claims that the tie-up violates the TNK-BP shareholders agreement, and has filed suit over the matter.
On February 1, London court imposed an injunction on the BP/Rosneft share swap until February 25 - as requested by AAR - in order to give Stockholm arbitration time to reach a decision in the dispute. AAR and BP have agreed to fast-track arbitration. The first hearing is scheduled for the middle of February.
