TNK-BP, Gazprom Neft cutting fuel prices

MOSCOW. Feb 9 (Interfax) - TNK-BP will be cutting retail prices on winter diesel fuel by 1.2 rubles per liter at 9 p.m. Moscow time, the company announced.

"This reduction has been ordered for all the company's filling stations in the Russian Federation," the company said.

Gazprom Neft is also lowering diesel prices. The company said it had "lowered the cost of winter diesel and kerosene" throughout its wholesale and retail networks from February 9.

The company's wholesale prices are going down by 1,500 rubles a tonne and retail diesel prices are going down at least a ruble a liter. The kerosene is going down by 1,000 rubles a tonne on average.

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said on February 9 that both companies had failed to respond to the government's desire for them to lower their fuel prices.
