Iranian, Belarusian presidents to meet in 2011

MINSK. Feb 10 (Interfax) - The presidents of Belarus and Iran will exchange visits this year, Iranian Ambassador to Minsk Seyyed Abdollah Hosseini said at a Thursday press conference.

"We waited for the election to take place and planned summit meetings for this year. Most probably, visits of the chiefs of state will be exchanged," he said.

Belarus and Iran are considering possible deliveries of Iranian crude to Belarus on swap terms involving third countries, the ambassador said.

"Negotiations are in progress. We have not achieved any particular results, so I will make no comment. Yet we have no restrictions on selling crude to our Belarusian friends. All we have to do is to choose the option with the maximal economic expediency," he said.

"The selling of Iranian crude to Belarus on swap terms involving Russia or Azerbaijan may be an option," he said.
