Russian budget surplus at 3.6% of GDP in Jan - Finance Ministry

MOSCOW. Feb 10 (Interfax) - Russia's federal budget deficit for January 2011 was 121.54 billion rubles or 3.6% of GDP, the Finance Ministry said, quoting preliminary data.

Budget revenue was 799.65 trillion rubles, or 9% above approved revenue for the year. Cash spending was 678.1 billion rubles, or 6.4% of adjusted spending for the year.

The primary budget deficit was an estimated 146.97 billion rubles.

Last year, there were monthly budget surpluses in January (66.12 billion rubles) and in June (23.398 billion rubles).

GDP in January 2011 totaled 3.367 trillion rubles.

Budget revenue from oil and gas totaled 355.598 billion rubles in January (8.7% of the target for the year) and non-oil and gas revenue was 444.09 billion rubles (9.3%).

The Federal Tax Service collected 365.03 billion rubles for the budget in January (10.3% of the target for the year) and Rosimushchestvo contributed 1.17 billion rubles (1.2%).

Other federal bodies contributed 128.37 billion rubles (25%). Excluding revenue from Central Bank profit and earnings on investment of the Reserve Fund and National Welfare Fund, the total was 81.31 billion rubles (21.1%).
