Russian car production soars 2.3-fold in Jan - Rosstat

MOSCOW. Feb 15 (Interfax) - Russian car production soared 2.3-fold year-on-year in January to 99,700 units, the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) said.

Truck output, including chassis but not including dump trucks, rose 2.8-fold to 8,000, and bus production rose five-fold to 1,400.

Excavator production fell 22% to 92,000 units, and grain combine production fell 3.2% to 268.

Tyre and inner tube production rose 71% to 3.6 million.
