Russian stocks open higher on MICEX; index up 0.2% in first minute

MOSCOW. Feb 16 (Interfax) - Russian stocks opened higher on the MICEX exchange on Wednesday amid gains on stock exchanges abroad.

The MICEX index rose 0.18% to 1,698.97 points as of 10:31 a.m. and the RTS index was up 0.24% to 1,870.52 points.

The blue chips were advancing on MICEX, including VTB - up 0.3%, Gazprom - 0.4%, Lukoil - 0.2%, Polyus Gold - 0.2%, Rosneft - 0.5%, Surgutneftegas - 0.1% and Tatneft - 0.8%.
