Norilsk Nickel extends two Murmansk exploration licenses
MOSCOW. Feb 18 (Interfax) - MMC Norilsk Nickel has had exploration licenses for the Allarechenskaya and Yuzhno-Kovdorskaya properties in the Murmansk region extended, the company said.
The license to the Allarechenskaya copper, nickel and noble metals property was issued in October 2007 and was due to expire in October 2012, but has been extended until the end of October 2014.
The license to Yuzhno-Kovdorskaya, which contains platinum, gold, copper and nickel, was issued in October 2006, expired in October 2011 and has been extended until the end of September 2013.
Both properties figure in Norilsk Nickel's plans to develop its Kola Mining and Metals division in the period to 2025-2030.
