Deputy Transport Minister Nedosekov made candidate for RZD board
MOSCOW. Feb 21 (Interfax) - Russia's Deputy Transport Minister Andrei Nedosekov has been put up as a government candidate for the board of directors at OJSC Russian Railways (RZD) at a vote slated for the company's annual shareholder meeting, the Russian government said in an order.
The current board does not feature any Transport Ministry representatives
Furthermore, the list of board candidate also includes Kirill Androsov, who worked as Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade from 2005 to 2008 and Deputy Head of the Russia Government Apparatus from 2008 to 2010. He now serves as an independent export and has been nominated for the RZD board as an independent director.
Other candidates include the chairman of Deutsche Bahn's managing board Hartmut Mehdorn and managing director at the World Bank, Graeme Wheeler. Their candidacy was the result of the company's IPO plans. The program for privatizing Russian state assets foresees the sale of up to 25% minus one share in RZD in 2013-2015.
It was earlier reported that the former managing director of Troika Dialog and current Deputy Mayor of Moscow Andrei Sharonov will likely leave the RZD board.
