Kazakh non-commodity sector gets $1.7 bln FDI in 2010
ALMATY. Feb 22 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan's non-commodities sector received an estimated $1.7 billion foreign direct investment (FDI) in 2010.
"We expect that FDI in the non-commodity sector totaled approximately $1.7 billion. Kazakhstan attracted something like $13.1 billion in FDI in the first nine months of 2010 with the non-commodity sector accounting for $1.5 billion, or a 25% increase compared to the same period in 2009," Deputy Minister of Industry and New Technologies Duisenbai Turganov said at a government meeting in Astana on Tuesday.
