MICEX index gains 0.4% at open on Monday

MOSCOW. Feb 28 (Interfax) - Russian stocks rose at the open of trading on the MICEX exchange on Monday amid gains on exchanges in the U.S. and Asia.

The MICEX index was up 0.43% to 1,755.24 points as of 10:31 a.m. on Monday and the RTS index rose 0.45% to 1,941.51 points.

Among advancers on MICEX, VTB was up 0.4%, Gazprom gained 0.3%, Gazprom Neft rose 0.7%, MMC Norilsk Nickel - up 0.8%, Lukoil - 0.2%, Polyus Gold - 1%, Rosneft - 0.4%, Rostelecom - 0.6%, Sberbank - 0.4%, Surgutneftegas - 0.4% and Tatneft - 0.3%.
