Jiangxi earmarks $9.86 bln for smart grid construction over next five years

Shanghai. February 28. INTERFAX-CHINA - Jiangxi Province plans to spend RMB 64.86 billion ($9.86 billion) on smart power grid construction over the next five years, the provincial government said on Feb. 27.

According the Jiangxi government, the province intends to spend RMB 6.045 billion ($918.69 million) on smart grid development for the whole of this year.

In addition to power grid construction, Jiangxi plans to build six electric car charging stations and 500 electric car charging posts in 2011, according to the government.

By 2015, the province's planned power grid investment will see the development of 12 electric car charging stations, 106 electric car battery delivery centers and 9,900 charging posts, the government said.
