Russian oil co up Jan exploratory drilling 21.1% yoy
MOSCOW. Feb 28 (Interfax) - Russian oil companies drilled 43,600 meters of exploratory well in January, which was 21.1% more than in the same month last year.
According to Fuel and Energy Dispatch Center (TsDU TEK) figures, penetration for production drilling in January was up 24.6% at 1.283 million meters.
Surgutneftegas drilled 19,700 meters of exploratory (up 60.2% year-on-year) and 312,100 meters of production well (up 21.5%).
Lukoil increased January exploratory drilling 60.3% to 11,700 meters and production drilling 5.6% to 181,900 meters.
Rosneft drilled 3,100 meters of exploratory well (a 6.2-fold year-on-year increase) and 237,000 meters of production well ((up 40.4%).
TNK-BP Holding and Gazprom did 38.2% less (to 3,400 meters) and 92% (to 100 meters) exploratory drilling, respectively. But the former drilled 140,800 meters of production well in January (up 54% year-on-year) and the latter 182,600 meters (up 30.3%).
